# Use Splice with your agent

Splice is film.fun's AI filmmaking studio. Choose the interface your task needs. Every generation spends the user's Splice credits; nothing here spends anything until a generate call.

## Look things up (no account)

- Public docs MCP server: `https://splice.film.fun/api/mcp/docs` (Streamable HTTP, no auth). Tools: `search_docs`, `get_doc`, `list_models`, `get_pricing`, `list_templates`, `get_template`.

## Generate and edit (the user's account)

- **MCP (recommended):** `https://splice.film.fun/api/mcp`, Streamable HTTP. Sign in with OAuth (your client starts it on the 401), or send `Authorization: Bearer sk_…`. Initialize, then call `tools/list`. Tools: `list_models`, `get_balance`, `list_productions`, `generate_image`, `generate_video`, `generate_voice`, `generate_music`, `edit_image`, `upscale_image`, `upscale_video`, `get_job`, `list_compositions`, `get_composition`, `render_composition`, `list_characters`.
- **REST:** `https://splice.film.fun/api/agents/*` with `Authorization: Bearer sk_…` (keys: https://splice.film.fun/dashboard/api-keys). Generation is asynchronous: a call returns a job id at once; poll it (`get_job`) every 5-10 s. Pass an idempotency key so a retry never charges twice.
